| Abstract: | The frequent occurrence of environmental hazard has become the huge resisting force for social and economic development and advancement of urban in China. This paper, analyzing the necessity of advancement of government＇s capacity in coping with the environmental hazard from the perspective of the government responsibility, the construction of harmonious society and sustainable development, puts forward four paths as for the advancement of government＇s capacity in coping with the environmental hazard： first, cultivate correct and positive hazard consciousness; second, improve the legal institutions of hazard; third, mitigate hazard effectively by the implementation of science and technology; fourth, improve the coping system of hazard based on government leadership and Multi - agent involvement. |
