| Abstract: | Assessment is one of the essential components in foreign language teaching.Traditional exam has some negative effects on English teaching.However,formative assessment emphasizes the students' learning process,it plays an active role in improving students' comprehensive capability of language using.The essay analyzes the disadvantages、characteristics and procedures of formative assessment to indicate the importance of formative assessment in English teaching. |
