维特根斯坦语义整体论与外语词汇教学

摘    要:文章结合维特根斯坦的语义整体论,从语词的意义这一语言哲学的基本问题的角度,探讨其对外语教学中的词汇教学的启发。在对维特根斯坦后期语义整体论的两个主要概念:即语言游戏说和意义使用说的分析基础上,文章认为整体论对外语词汇教学的启示有两方面:第一,词汇的习得与语词意义的理解有着密切的关系,而词义的理解在于对词汇的使用;第二,词义的理解离不开相应的语境,因此语境知识的补充是提高词汇习得水平的有效方法之一。

Abstract:Based on the theory of Wittgenstein's semantic holism, this paper discusses foreign language vocabulary teaching from the angle of the meaning of the words, which is the basic issue of language philosophy. By analyzing the two main concepts in Wittgenstein's semantic holism: language game and words using, this paper shows the significance of holism in foreign language vocabulary teaching from two aspects: first, the vocabulary acquisition and understanding of word meaning are closely related, and how to understand a word is equal to how to use it; second, we can't understand a word without context and therefore providing contextual information is one of the effective way to improve vocabulary acquisition.
