| 摘 要： | 回顾清至民国时期基督教(新教)的一个差会———美以美会在莆田地区的传播与发展概况。指出清至民国时期莆田美以美会在传播与发展过程中,有以下几个特点值得关注:本地信徒在建堂传教方面发挥了重要作用;注重发展社会事业;在“三自”方面的实践起步早,但成效低。

| Abstract: | Reviewing the propagation of one of the protestant missions--Methodist Episcopal Mission (M. E.M.) in Putian from the Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China, this paper points out that there are three main features in the course of the propagation, that is, the native Christians play a positive role in building churchs and disseminating Christianity; the Church pays attention to developing the social undertaking; the practice of Three Self starts early but achieves little. |
