| 摘 要： | 蔡元培入主北京大学之后,偏重文理两科,尤其重视文科。蔡元培重点建设文科,是国家的思想革新所需,北大的办学条件所限,自己的兴趣所在和能力所及。其贯彻思想自由、兼容并包的办学原则,广罗人才,力倡研究,积极办刊,促进了北大文科的快速发展。其实践经验说明:学科建设必须突出重点;选择重点学科适宜在外部需要、内部条件和领导偏好之间寻找结合点;建设重点学科应该紧靠学术。

| Abstract: | After Cai Yuanpei became the chancellor of Peking University,he prioritized the development of the humanities and science,and put greater emphasis on developing the former.The reasons why the humanities were chosen as key disciplines included China’s demand for ideological revolution,the constraints due to Peking University,and Cai′s own academic interest and ability.By applying the principle of freedom of thought,adopting tolerance policy,energetically recruiting talented people,strongly supporting academic research and actively publishing various journals,Cai promoted the rapid development of the humanities in Peking University.His successful experience shows that prominence must be given to key disciplines,which should be chosen in light of external demands and internal conditions and leaders’ preference,and that key disciplines should be developed by substantially enhancing academic performance. |
