印象管理研究取向与理论模型

摘    要:印象管理在解释人际行为中,从最初的边缘化概念逐渐发展成为一个核心概念。目前,基于印象管理对人际行为的研究很多,根据其研究取向可以分为三类:第一,人格心理学研究取向,认为印象管理是稳定的人格特质或结构所致,包括社会期望理论、自我监控理论、自我呈现理论、组织中的印象管理理论等;第二,社会心理学研究取向,主要探讨互动情境与交往客体对印象管理的影响;第三,交互作用研究取向,探讨人格与互动情境的交互作用对印象管理行为的影响。印象管理领域内比较有影响的理论模型包括综合印象管理模型、自我呈现过程模型、印象管理控制论模型,它们探讨印象管理过程的组成部分及其影响因素。印象管理研究采用认知心理学研究取向可能是一个较好的选择,为此需要重新构念印象管理过程,以利更深入、系统的研究。

Abstract:Impression management developed from a marginal concept initially to a central one in the researches on the interpersonal behaviors.Based on the impression management,there are too many studies currently,which could be classified into three categories by its approach: The first,personality approach,which suggested that impression management results from stable traits or structures,including social desirable theory,self-monitoring,self-presentation theory,impression management in organizations;The second,social psychology approach,which explored the impacts of interaction situations,the targets and their interaction on the impression management.The third,cognition psychology approach,including relationship communication theory,comprehensive model of impression management,the model of self-presentation processes,and the cybernetic model of impression management processes.It is proposed that cognitive approach on the impression management will be good choice.In order to study impression management further and systematically,its processes should be reconceptualized moderately.
