An Analysis of the Reforms and Strategies of English Teaching in Vocational Technical School |

| Abstract: | The resources that the students entered the vocational and technical school are mostly those who failed in the admissions examination of the ordinary high schools. The grades of their entrance exam are uneven, a majority of the students＇ English is relatively poor when they entered the school, their foundation is weak when they were in the junior high school, some even a blank, so they don＇ t really understand English classes, and they will do something which has nothing to do with the study in the classroom, such as sleeping, not concentrating, reading other books, and so on. At the same time, teachers still follow the old model that teachers only teach book knowledge to students, while ignoring the comprehensive ability of speaking and writing. As a result, the interests of learning English generally become low, and the basic language application ability is deficient .When they graduated and then went to the society, they didn＇t take the advantages of their professional skill. Their own development will be disadvantageous in the future. In order to improve the quality of teaching English in the vocational and technical school, the author puts forward to several suggestions. |
