| Abstract: | After over a century of development,the present configuration of Chinese higher education system exhibits seven historical imprints:separation and merges of higher education institutions(HEIs),independence and incorporation of normal universities and colleges,key university system,principle of regional configuration,dispute over running HEIs by government ministries,the vicissitude of private HEIs and foreign HEIs. |
