| 摘 要： | 纳撒尼尔,霍桑是美国19世纪影响最大的浪漫主义小说家和心理小说家,被尊称为“美国的莎士比亚”.《红字》是霍桑的代表作品.小说中的孤独主题主要体现着四位主人公身上：海斯特在生活中没有同伴,无人帮忙解决问题的孤独;受人敬仰的牧师丁梅斯代尔不敢承认犯错而独自忍受心理惩罚；复仇者齐灵沃斯的孤独以及珍珠在成长中没有伙伴、没有父爱的孤独.这些孤独因素的产生主要是因为当时特定的社会和文化背景、人性扭曲.此外,霍桑本人的经历也是小说充满孤独主题的原因.

| Abstract: | Nathaniel Hawthorne was one of the most famous short story writers and the psycnoiogacat nov elists and was wellknown as ＂American Shakespeare＂. The Scarlet Letter is his masterpiece. Once pub fished, it causes a great sensation. The topic of the novel is focused on the loneliness in the four main characters： Hester＇s loneliness in her life without any companion to help her solve her problem, Dimmers dal＇s loneliness in psychopunishment because of the fear I：o acknowledge his sin, chilling worth＇s loneliness in revenge, poor Pearl＇s loneliness in her growth without father＇s love. The factors cause the loneliness in the novel including the social backgrounds, traditional morals. In addition, the solitude in the writer＇s life and his inner heart is also one of the causes of the lonelirLess in the novel. |
