| 摘 要： | 文廷式主张打通古今中外，为变革时代所用；主张学术随时代而尽其变，检讨汉学、宋学之缺陷；为改进中国政治制度，他编撰《新译列国政治通考》以介绍西洋政治制度。他探求西方科技知识，以有益于“民生日用”。比较中外宗教，分析儒学、墨学之特征。引入佛家平等说分析世界万物与人类社会，对轮回说进行新的阐发。他长于史学，对各种历史资料的考辨论述，颇具史学价值；批判清代诗学，论词学兴衰，亦有独到见解。惜其著作多为评点式，未成体系，有的书稿散佚，影响他未能成为学术大家，但他是一位思想变革与学术创新的先知先觉。

| Abstract: | Wen Ting - shi advocated ancient and modern times and China as well as foreign countries should be connected, which was used by the reform times, learning should change along with the age. He made a self - criticism on the defects in Han ＆ Song learning. In order to improve China＇ s political system, he compiled New Translation of Various Nations＇ Politics to introduce the political system of Western world. He sought the Western scientific knowledge which was beneficial to ＂the people＇ s livelihood＂. He compared the Chinese religion with the foreign religion, and analyzed the characteristics of Confucianism and Mohism, introduced the theory of Buddhism equality, analyzed the whole world and human society, and explained the metempsychosis thought. He was good at historiography, and collected, classified and discriminated historical materials; he criticized Poetics of the Qing Dynasty, researched the rise and fall of Ci -ology, on which he had original views. Because his works were mainly in critique, didn＇ t form a system, so he didn＇ t become a great master. However, he was a prophet in the ideological change and the academic innovation. |
