| Abstract: | The method of mathematical statistics shows that the fourth tone of Chinese pronunciation during Jin-Yuan period should be divided into 5 departments, namely, Yue-tie（月贴） department, Yao-duo（药铎） department, Wu-zhu（屋烛） department, Xi-zhi（昔职） department and Zhi-wu（质物） department, rather than the divisions made by Li Ai-ping or Song Hong-min who divided it into three. |
