| Abstract: | This paper seeks to analyze the profound impact and great effect of university presidents' educational ideology on their educational practice throungh a historical study of Mei Yiqi and Zhu Kezhen's actual administration of Tsinghua University and Zhejiang University, two prestigious institutions of higher learning in China's educational history. It is hoped that this analysis would provide useful evidence for China's construction of institutions of higher learning comparable with top-ranking universities in the world. |
