| 摘 要： | 一般来说,委婉语分为两大类:一类是语言禁忌;另一类是表达上的意转性技巧.由于东西方文化及英、汉两种语言在表达上的差异,委婉语在英、汉两种语言的使用过程中出现的频率是极高的.文章旨在用具体的实例说明这一语言现象.

| Abstract: | Generally speaking,euphemisms are classified into 2 categories:One is language taboo,and the other is euphemistic expression.Owing to the differences between the Western and Eastern culture,and the differences between English and Chinese,euphemisms were frequently used in the course of communications both in English and Chinese.My thesis aims at exploring this language phenomenon. |
