Abstract:It focuses on technological capability development stages five generic routes for technological catch up by latecomer finns. It analyzes a typical example of a company that was able to succeed in the technological catching up process, and shows how Asian latecomers have been able to catch up with western companies. Lessons are learned abut the micro-level mechanisms that underpin the development of low tech companies into technologically competitive industry leaders.
