| 摘 要： | 在19世纪的曼哈顿。猪群在街上大摇大摆，牛儿在公园里悠闲吃草。到了现代，城里人几经筛选留下了鸡类作为家禽，不仅纽约市如此，全美国的城市居民都不断地买来母鸡养在花园或是后院里．收获鲜鸡蛋和肥料，人们同社区的联系也因此更加紧密。街坊邻居们常在一起讨论养鸡心得，有时还研究出养鸡的新花样。

| Abstract: | In 19th-century Manhattan, hogs roamed the streets and cattle grazed in public parks. Today, chickens are the urban livestock of choice, and not just in New York. City dwellers across the U.S. are adding hens to their yards and gardens, garnering fresh eggs, fertilizer, and community ties, with localities debating and updating their ordinances accordingly. |
