| Abstract: | The paper tears down explanations and relevant conclusions suggested by so called "Re Commentary Copy" on the text of A Dream of Red Mansions, annotations and commentaries by Zhi Yanzhai, in Ouyang Jian's article On the Pertinence of the Annotations and Commentaries by Zhi Yanzhai. It holds that Ouyang Jian, for the sake of verifying that Cheng Weiyuan's annotations and commentaries was earlier than Zhi Yanzhai's, has slipped to the farfetched dead end in verification. |
