| 摘 要： | 东晋南朝为了监管少数民族，在一些民族聚居的郡级单位设置杂号护军，主要有镇蛮、安远等护军，西江、南江、东江诸督护。在郡级设杂号护军始于西晋初期，晋末宋初主要集中在长江中游的蛮族地区。梁、陈时期则主要置于岭南俚族地区。
