| Abstract: | The Holy Bible, considered to be an important source of western language, a pillar of western culture, a guide to belief,has a great and profound influence on the western culture. This paper attempts to explore the cultural connotations of Biblical allusions and reveal the close relation between Biblical allusions and their expressions in English; meanwhile points out the importance of exploration of Biblical allusions and their origins in Bible for the elicitation of western culture. |
