摘    要:我国许多的商标名由于中西方文化的巨大差异,在翻译时不得不失“信”或不“信”。从目的论的角度解释这一现象,指出为了实现译文的预期目的,“信”于原文不是唯一可容许的策略。

Abstract:Due to the cultural difference between the West and China,the translation of many trademarks tends to lose its "faithfulness" or is not "faithful" to the source text.The present paper tries to explain this kind of phenomenon from the perspective of purpose theory and points out that "being faithful" to the source text is not the only strategy that is allowed to take for the purpose of realizing the predicted target of the translated version.
