| Abstract: | The origin of Sima Qian＇ s economic thoughts comes from the Confucian economic moderate and peacetul thoughts. Sima Qian fully recognized the significance of various industries and the value of their existence. Meanwhile he did not deny the government＇ s macro management of the economy, attaching great importance to the agricultural production, industry and commerce, admitting businessman＇ s role in social economy. At the mircm level, he systematically summarized merchant＇ s ways of doing business during the pre - Qin and Western Han dynasty. In terms of the economic policy, Sima Qian advocated respect for the laws of nature and social economic life, and was against excessive administrative interven- tion. Sima Qian＇s practical and pragmatic learning attitude was deeply influenced by the Confucian culture. |
