| 摘 要： | 语言是文化的载体。大学英语教学应帮助学生打下扎实的语言基础，提高文化素养。为了研究英语教师如何以课堂教学为核心，结合第二课堂活动，培养提高学生的文化素养，笔者对2000级的四个本科班进行了为期两年的教学对比实验。结果表明，教师有目的地系统地进行文化教学，不仅提高了学生的文化素养，而且促进了英语教学，提高了学生的综合语言技能。

| Abstract: | As cultures are diverse so languages are diverse. College English teaching should help students acquire linguistic competence as well as cultural competence. To research on the instructive roles of teachers in improving students' cultural competence in class teaching and out-of-class activities, the author carried out a two-year contrastive experiment in four classes of grade 2000. It turned out that culture teaching, which the author adopted on purpose in a systematic way, not only improved the students' cultural competence, but also in turn improved the English teaching in class and greatly enhanced the students' comprehensive language skills. |
