| 摘 要： | 翻译过程中出现误译是很常见的,误译多半源自误读,即对源语的错误解读.对源语的误读又分为语言和文化两个层面.<金瓶梅>英译本中存在较多误译和不当翻译.人名和某些事件的误译只不过是译者的某种"失察"而已,而习语和文化术语的不当翻译根本原因在于译者源语文化意识和修养的欠缺.考虑到英译本非直接译自中文,误译在很大程度上来自于其母译本.
