| Abstract: | 612 articles,4487 citations and 682 authors of the "Journal of Documentation"(1983~1992) are analyzed with a result that 96.1% of the articles were of monographic subject matter,90.2% were of realistic materials and 81.9% were research papers;there were 96.1% of the articles published with citations,averaging 7.2 items per article and 67.5% of which were of library science,49.1% were of journal articles,the majority of them(accounting for 99.0%)were document citations written in English;though 91.7% of the articles published with only one author,there was a slight rise of the extent of co-ahthorship.Facts are showing:the Journal is not only the core journal of library and information science but exercises a wide influence on many branches of learning(being included in 24 retrieval journals).2 ills.4 tabs.6 refs. |
