| Abstract: | Wang Shizhen opposed the Song Neo - Confucianism in his life. He criticized the writing genre used in the Spring and Autumn Annals, denied orthodox views, rearranged for the tradition of doctrines , and reinterpreted Song Neo - Confucianist comments on history with historicism and Taoism, thus arriving at a recognition true to history. He was a noticeable critic on Neo - Confucian historiography between Zhu Zhishan and Li Zhi. |
