| 摘 要： | Tea Party既可以译成“茶会”或者“茶会运动”,也可以译成个别茶党或者相关的税改党.在翻译过程中不能只看政治运动的表面,应借助归化和异化的翻译思想,结合实际的历史和社会文化背景,找到既比较符合美国社会文化事实,也能够为中国读者所接受的恰当译文.

| Abstract: | Since early 2009,Tea Party,the grassroots movement,has roughly swept across the American political arena,and delivered a stinging blow to the Democratic federal government and its Congress in this year′s mid-term election.This has shaken the American public,and has fed the Chinese media with thousands of related reports,which can now be immediately retrieved from Baidu News.Yet,the translation of Tea Party and that of its historical origin Boston Tea Party have been problematic.A careful examination of their historical and contemporary truth reveals that tea party cannot be absolutely translated as"茶会",nor can it be hastily translated as"茶党".Translating tea party has to be conscious of contextual clues,and has to be the necessary result of a negotiation between English and Chinese,keeping balance between foreignization and domestication. |
