| 摘 要： | 和谐社会是人类追求的理想目标，也是中国特色社会主义的本质属性。科学发展与社会和谐是内在统一的。建设和谐大学，是构建和谐社会的重要组成部分，而且对和谐社会建设具有引领示范作用。和谐大学的理念包括以人为本的理念、崇尚学术的理念、服务社会的理念、持续发展的理念、面向世界的理念和引领社会的理念。正确处理和谐社会与和谐大学的五个关系：服务社会又引领社会发展的关系；人的全面发展与构建和谐社会的关系；文化创新与文化和谐的关系；规模与结构、质量与效益的关系；高等教育发展规律与市场经济发展规律的关系等。
