| 摘 要： | 以杜赞奇的《文化、权力与国家》一书为例,评析了历史学领域中新兴的文化研究取向的特色与不足。该书采用的时新的文化分析思路,源于历史学与后现代思潮及象征人类学的联姻。在分析传统中国国家与乡村社会之间的关系,以及这种关系的现代化变迁时,这一思路显示了独到的阐释能力,从而揭示了中国近代政治现代化进程当中极少为人注意的负面效果,也为中国学者提供了启鉴。同时,这种文化研究取向也留下了三个有待进一步讨论的问题,即文化阐释与理论模型建构的关系、经济因素与文化变迁的关系以及国家政权内卷化在文化时空上的差异。

| Abstract: | This paper makes criticism on Cultural study, a newly but now widely tried approach in historical studies, which is creatively used in the book of Culture, Power, and the State: Rural North China (1900-1942) by Prasenjit Duara. This new approach comes from the connection of post-modernization and symbolic anthropology, and in this book it shows particular power of interpretation of traditional relationship between state and rural society and the changes of it in modern China. For this reason, Chinese scholars may find it inspiring to read this book. Meantime, there are still three questions for further discussion, i.e. the relationship between cultural interpretation and theory building, the relationship between economy and cultural changes, and the difference of state-involution in different period and cultural contexts. |
