| Abstract: | Metaphor is not only a linguistic phenomenon, but also a way of thinking and a cognition phenomenon during the thinking development, which is a means to realize the social function of language. In college English teaching, the students＇ metaphorical competence can be cultivated from Language and culture, English vocabulary and English reading, and therefore it＇s necessary to discuss the application of metaphor in college English teaching. |
