| 摘 要： | 文献型翻译强调源语文化的纪实,其手段主要是逐词对应翻译、直译、注释型翻译和异化翻译。《阅微草堂笔记》有“无人能夺其席”的文学价值,对清后期笔记小说的创作有重要影响。金大逸(David Keenan)翻译的《阅微草堂笔记》带有浓厚的“中国味”,主要表现在文化词、专有名词、典故及诗歌意象的英译中广泛地使用了文献型翻译。对比他博士论文中相应的英译,发现其在后来出版的译本中有多次文献型翻译的增减。金大逸极力再现汉语原文的词汇和句式特征,虽然在一定程度上产生的“陌生化”会滞后读者的理解,但并非将其无限放大。该译本保留了大量中国文化词汇的原有风貌,并且其注释内容对原文语义进行了有效的补充,对汉学界的清代文化研究有文献参考价值。

| Abstract: | Documentary Translation performs the crucial function of maintaining the cultural features of the original text,by means of interlinear translation,literal translation,philological translation and foreignizing translation.Yue Wei Cao Tang Bi Ji,written by the litterateur Ji Yun in the Qing Dynasty,enjoys irreplaceable literature value and has a great impact on note fictions in the late Qing.In David Keenan’s English rendition of Yue Wei Cao Tang Bi Ji,documentary translation is extensively used,which adds a strong Chinese flavor to culture-loaded words,proper nouns,allusions,and images in poetry.Compared to the translations in his doctoral dissertation,his later publicized version has made a lot of additions and deletions of literal translation.Although Keenan’s efforts in reproducing the style of Chinese phrases and sentences unavoidably impede readers’understanding out of the estrangement to some extent,he carefully measured the acceptance.Moreover,his explanatory words,academic research,and even his further understanding in the footnotes efficiently complements the meaning of the text.This version made a great contribution to the research of Qing culture in the sonological field. |
