Abstract:The phrpose of this paper is to summarize biological effects of estrogen and it's influence on performance.Result:Both endogenous and exogenous estrogens have significant acute and chronic effects upon cardiovascular structure and function as well as cardio-protective effects for heart disease. Specifically, transiently increased blood volume, plasma volume, stroke volume and cardiac output, the level of blood glucose have been reported during the luteal phase and during oral contraceptive consumption as a direct consequence of raised circulating levels of estrogen. No significant changes were observed in maximum serum lactic acid after an anaerobic endurance test. Estrogen might have direct and indirecteffects on protein metabolism. It's also helpful to antioxidant and stability of amphithecium. Conclusion: The effects of Estrogen are multifunctional, which is probably related to higher performance when plasma level of E is higher.
Keywords:estrogen  cardiovascular function  metabolism  CNS  effects
