| Abstract: | Knowledge is the key resource of organizations in knowledge economic era.New product is the outcome of knowledge integration,NPD (new product development) is the main source of technology innovation.However,in NPD projects there is a high ratio of failure.In manufacturing industry,due to the complex product involving multi-technology integration,several chronic problems severely blocked the process of NPD.The root of these problems is that the development team's structure is not suitable for the key tasks in NPD: knowledge acquisition,integration and creation.This paper probes into a suitable development team structure for KM(knowledge management) in complex product development.Through the comparative analysis of two cases(NPD of vessels),a KMbased multi-layer and cross-organizational development team is proposed. |
