| Abstract: | Over fifty fine varieties of tulip have been introduced and from home and abroad and domesticated at Luanping experimental station of the Chinese Academy of Sciences since 1991 according to the biological features of tulips in combination with natural resources conditions of climate and soils of Luanping County of Hebei Province in China. It is found after several years cultivation and domestication experiment that development of locally grown tulip is characterized by short rooting period, fine growing conditions of bulb in later phase and high economic efficiency. Experimental study indicated that Yanshan Mountain area possesses the fundamental natural conditions for bulb production of tulips. |
