Abstract: | The instrument described is an ammeter for measuring currents flowing in the secondary circuits of induction coils.A D'Arsonval system is used, modified by placing a small condenser in parallel with the moving coil and its calibration shunt to compensate for the high rate change of current, and by a ground on one side of the system to prevent sparking between the meter parts. The instrument is especially adapted for use in X-ray work, because it was found that the quantity of X-rays was directly proportional to the current flowing in the tube. |
