| 摘 要： | 作为一个现代主义作家,劳伦斯十分关注现代文明对人性的异化,在其中短篇小说中生动地再现了人的自然本能与现代机械文明之间的冲突。劳伦斯小说中永恒不变的主题是对扭曲人性的机械文明的鞭挞和对自然人性回归的呼吁。他认为只有回归自然,恢复两性的本来面目,才能使人类摆脱文明的梦魇,远离机器的摧残。

| Abstract: | As a modernist writer, D. H. Lawrence paid much attention to alienation of humanity. In his short stories, there are conflicts between natural instincts of human beings and mechanical civilization in modern times. The unchangeable theme of Lawrence’ s short stories is the scourge of mechanical civilization which twists humanity and the appeal to natural humanity. Ac-cording to Lawrence, only by returning to Nature and the original truth can men get rid of the nightmare of civilization and be away from destruction. |
