| 摘 要： | 文章提出理工类大学通识课程设置必要性观点,尤其强调中文课程在通识教育中的核心地位。指出：通识课程门类多样,为学生兴趣发展、就业方向、素质培养提供了保障。素质教育不仅表现在知识层面,还表现在对传统文化精义、文明成果的继承发扬上,学习就是思想改造的过程,通识教育在精神品质上帮助学生完善人格、磨炼意志、建设好精神家园,树立正确的人生观、世界观、价值观;培养学生的学习研究能力,自我更新、不断提高发展的能力,学用结合的能力,把握自然和社会发展规律、推动社会前进的能力。各门类课程既发挥着不同的作用又能在思维创新、知识结构、能力培养、精神塑造等方面激发培育学生,融会贯通、相辅相成。
