通识教育的动力与阻力

摘    要:通识教育作为一个美好的教育理想,尽管在实践中面临重重困境,但依然充满希望.它既是人类自身全面和谐发展的需要,同时又受到种种现实条件的制约;既是事物的整体性、知识综合化的要求,同时也遭遇学科知识分化与大学教育专业化特性的种种阻力;既是社会发展对大学生全面素质提出的要求,又受到功利主义等不良社会风气的严重影响.但不论怎样,以培养“健全之人”为终极目的的通识教育是人类美好的教育理想,也是人们追求自由全面和谐发展的美好愿望,因而必然成为大学教育的发展方向.

Abstract:General education,as a beautiful ideal,is full of hope although it is faced with many difficulties in practice.It is the requirement of all-round and harmonious development of human beings while restricted by various realistic conditions;it is the requirement of comprehensivization of things and knowledge while confronted with the resistance from specialization of disciplinary knowledge and higher education;it is the requirement of students’ all-round development while greatly influenced by widespread utilitarianism.However,general education will inevitably be the direction in the development of higher education as it regards production of "men of sound mind" as its ultimate end and also represents man’s great desire for free,all-round and harmonious development.
