| Abstract: | Some scholars thought that although Yan Fu was the first person for translating and introducing the westward liberalism,he had incompletely apprehended the liberalism with individual as standard.However,Yanfu not only caught hold of the key problem of "individual and masses",but also proposed the wisdom of "balance each other,the individual lighter than the masses".From above,he deeply understood the westward liberalism with individual as standard from culture,as well as worried and kept his wits about its spread and harm in China.Whether Yanfu introduced into or animadverted on the Westward liberalism it was done all from the ethic culture in China as basis.So,on this basis,it was indifferent between "positive liberalism and negative liberalism",also between "conservation and radicalness". |
