Abstract: | The article first gives a general introduction of the Conceptual Metaphor theory, then illustrates its application in vocabulary acquisition, namely, the acquisition of polysemy, the con- struction of conceptual networks and the exploration of words' cultural meanings and finally points out more efforts are needed for the theory to be fully applied in practical language teaching. |
