摘    要:传统的高级英语课堂教学常以教师和教材为中心,注重语言的输入,学生成为被动的接受者,很少积极参与语言输出活动。Swain的输出假设表明,要使学习者的外语既流利又准确,不仅需要接触大量的可理解输入,也需要产出大量的可理解输出。这一理论在培养学生的交际能力和综合运用英语能力等方面起到非常重要的作用,给高级英语教学改革带来启示。

Abstract:Traditional Advanced English teaching is often teacher and texts-centered,focusing on language input,while students become passive recipients,who seldom actively participate in language output activities. The Output Hypothesis proposed by Swain shows that language output produced by language learners is as important as language input in order to enhance the accuracy and fluency of their language use. This theory plays an important role in developing students' communicative ability and comprehensive English competence. Finally the author points out the implications of Output Hypothesis for Advanced English teaching
