| 摘 要： | 英国作家哈代在长篇小说《卡斯特桥市长》中塑造了新老两代差异迥然的市长形象，通过对比可以判断出二人的个性不同、生活环境有别、命运轨迹参差：此外，从比较的结果中也能得出哈代创作的“威塞克斯”风格与凝重的乡土关怀。

| Abstract: | In The Mayor of Casterbridge City, Hardy depicts two quite different images of Mayors. The new and former mayors are different in personality, living environment and destiny. In addition, readers feel ＂Wessex＂ style of Hardy＇ s Creation and a strong concern for the homeland. |
