Abstract:In order to identify the chromosomes of Zingiber flavo-maculatum S.Q.Tong.and reveal preliminarily the genome organization,CPD(combined PI and DAPI)staining and FISH with 45S rDNA probe were applied to analyze the mitotic metaphase chromosomes.Two pairs of 45S rDNA sites were detected on the short arms of the chromosome 3 and 4,respectively,corresponding to the prominent red CPD bands.The molecular cytogenetic karyotypes of Zingiber flavo-maculatum was constructed based on the data of rDNA and chromosome measurements.The karyotype formula is 2n=2X=22=12m+6sm+4st(SAT)and the karyotype asymmetry belongs to 2B type.
