| 摘 要： | 系统归纳新加坡双语教育模式的历史与现状,并在各民族社会交际语言向英语转移的大背景下,分析比较华族三代人使用英语、华语（普通话）、汉语方言的最新变化,以及这些变化与双语模式之间的关系。研究表明,在新加坡60多年双语教育的历史进程中,汉语方言的使用即将绝迹、华语先升后降、英语持续快速上升的现象与＂过渡—保持双语教育模式＂的演变具有高度的一致性。

| Abstract: | In recent years scholars in China pay increasing attention to Singapore bilingual education and model.However,few of them have first-hand experience with it and hence their research lacks systematic summaries.Having personally done the field research for the Ph.D dissertation and survey on English-Chinese bilingualism in Singapore,and with plenty of first-hand documents and data,the authors describe the historical development and the current status of Singapore bilingual model and analyze the language shift from Chinese and Chinese dialects to English between the three generations of Singaporean Chinese,compared with those between all the other races,and the relationship between the shift and the model.The study reveals that it is due to the ＂transitional-maintenance bilingual model＂ that the rate of speaking Chinese dialects is withering away;Chinese（standard） is going down after a period of increase in use;and English is quickly and continuously going up. |
