| Abstract: | In the development of foreign higher education, facing with changes in social politics and economy and the developing higher education, liberal arts has maintained its important position, through its own division and synthesis, from its absolute control to existing and competing with science and engineering, to overlapping and penetrating. Its lasting vitality comes from huge social function. The function of liberal arts can't be replaced in developing fine national traditions, inherting valuable cultural heritage and improving personal accomplishment. Research into liberal arts direct confronts social problems and serves decision-making bodies. Liberal arts education of each country has striking features in speciality structure and curriculum offering and has a certain meaning to our educational reforms for refernce. |
