| 摘 要： | 小说《弃儿汤姆·琼斯史》历来被认为是亨利·菲尔丁最著名的小说，也被列入世界文学经典之列。笔者尝试运用对照手法对两组人物进行分析：汤姆和比菲尔＼汤姆和奥维资。值得注意的是，小说中对照手法采用了两种形式，一种对照是两种截然不同性格的人物之间的对比，另外一种对照是同一个人物其自身不同方面的对比。这两种形式的对照为小说栩栩如生的人物塑造起到了重要作用。

| Abstract: | Tom Jones, Henry Fielding＇s most renowned work, ranks into world literature classics. This paper tries to make a detailed analysis of the novel＇s characterization from the use of contrast between the two pairs of personages of Tom and Blifil, Tom and Allworthy. And what is important is that the contrast takes two forms, one is the usual contrast between two personages of different type of human nature, and the other is the contrast of the same personage in his different aspects. The two forms of contrasts together contribute to superb realistic characterization of the persons. |
