| 摘 要： | 作为创建中国现代大学的先驱,蔡元培与郭秉文于20世纪初分别变革和创建了北京大学和东南大学这两所学术重镇,形成了"学分南北"的独特格局。作为留学回国参与中国现代大学建设的典型代表,蔡、郭二人办学理念的差异,可以视为德国与美国两种不同的大学治理体系与中国传统文化在不同情境中碰撞会通的实践产物。探讨两位教育家型的大学校长在治理理念上的差异及其背后的深层原因,有助于我们更好地理解中国学术走向"现代性"的艰难历程,也可望为"双一流"背景下大学治理体系现代化提供历史镜鉴。

| Abstract: | As the forefathers of China’s modern universities, Cai Yuanpei and Guo Bingwen separately reformed and established the two academic centers of Peking University and Southeast University in the early 20 th century. Hence the unique pattern of "southern and northern styles of university running". Representing those participating in establishing modern universities after returning from abroad, Cai and Guo are respectively influenced by German and American paradigms in university governance. Their difference in educational philosophy can be understood as resulting from the clashes between their overseas background and Chinese traditional culture in different situations. Exploring the differences between these two education masters in the concept of governance and the underlying reasons will help us better understand the difficult course of Chinese academics towards "modernity". Also, it provides historical mirrors for the modernization of university governance in the background of constructing "Double World-class" universities. |
