Abstract:A digital watermark as a means for copyright protection may be crippled when a fake mark is embedded on top of it since both watermarks are detectable. In dealing with this problem, a watermarking scheme that does not satisfy the law of commutation is proposed. In this scheme, an order function based on an arithmetic mechanism is employed to identify the embedding order without affecting detection of the regular watermark. An earlier watermark corresponds to a larger value of the order function. In this way, the embedding order or watermarks can be identified according to the order function.
