| 摘 要： | 丁宝桢(1820—1886)，贵州平远人。以办理团练立功，出任湖南岳州知府。后又历任山东按察使、山东布政使、山东巡抚。在山东六年，镇压过农民起义，又整顿吏治，治理黄河，备御外侮，受到清廷的表彰，调任四川总督。凡有兴革，不避怨嫌。丁宝桢是晚清督抚中之佼佼者。死后，灵柩运山东埋葬。清廷命在山东建祠纪念他。

| Abstract: | Ding Bao-zhen (1820-1886) was born in Pingyuang, Guizhou Province. He was appointed to be zhi fu of Yuezhou, Hunan Proince in reward for collectively practicing martial arts. Later he successively held the posts of an cha shi, bu zheng shi and xun fu in Shandong. During six years in Shandong, he put down the peasants' uprising, reestablished the regulations of officers, harnessed the Yellow River and defended the foreign attack. Just because of this, he was rewarded by Qing Dynasty and transferred to be zong du of Sichuang Province. A person would be put in an important position according to his achievements regardless of his complaints. Ding Bao-zhen was an excellent officer in late Qing Dynasty After he died, he was buried in Shandong. The government of Qing Dynasty ordered to build an ancestral hall in memory of him. |
