| 摘 要： | 主语和主题是两种不同的概念,而且在汉英句子中主语和主题的意义和用法也有所区别。顺畅的主题链是篇章语意连贯的必要条件。因此,我们要在英汉互译中构建主题链。将以汉语古诗文、散文的英译为例,集中讨论构建主题链在汉英翻译中的应用。

| Abstract: | As two different but related concepts,subject and topic are characterized by their distinct usage in English and Chinese texts. Topic chain,on the other hand,fundamentally contributes to the textual development in light of both cohesion and coherence. By resorting to many case analyses,the present paper shows that topic chains are also of much help to Chinese- English translation. |
