| 摘 要： | 简介国内外英汉礼貌原则的研究，对英汉礼貌用语进行比较并溯其文化渊源，认为文化差异是引起礼貌用语语用失误的主要原因。礼貌用语是语言交际能力必不可少的一个方面，而培养学生的跨文化交际能力则是外语教学的目标之一。

| Abstract: | Increasing attention has been paid to cultural factors in China's foreign language teaching in recent years and inter-cultural research in the area is gaining momentum. This paper makes a brief introduction of the studies of the politeness maxims both of chinese and English and attempts to make comparison of politeness wording between Chinese and English. Different cultures, especially the difference between individualism (western culture) and collectivism (oriental culture), are believed to be the main causes for the difference of politeness maxims and wording, so for the inter-cultural misunderstanding. Also the communication strategies are suggested to develop the students' inter-cultural communicative competence, which is one of main subjects of English language teaching. |
