| Abstract: | The semantic meaning of "identity" has gone through some parallel transformations in both Chinese and English contexts.Accompanying this,there is a shift of research focus from "identity" study to "identification" study in cultural studies.The thesis will point out that this shift of focus is influenced by the post-modern concept of "identity". |
